our mandate is to inspire and assist youth and adults to become the best they can be as responsible, respectful, peaceful, confident and caring citizens. All our initiatives stem from values and attributes of the Future Aces Philosophy that has been used as a character and equality guideline in the GTA for more than 50 years. Schools use Future Aces to enhance their Equity and Safe Schools Programs to build self esteem and leadership skills deterring bullying, violence, racism, cultural and religious intolerance and other inappropriate behaviour. FUTURE means always striving for improvement ACES means being the best you can be and an acronym for the following attributes: A Attitude, Ability, Action, Achieve, C Co-operation, Courage, Confidence, E Empathy, Example, Education, S Service, Sportmanship. Future Aces is a model for good behaviour with a meaningful message that can be applied to all aspects of life encouraging responsible citizenship. Our Education team provides motivational workshops, in-service sessions and leadership conferences based on the unique needs of each school. The following initiatives provide a character and values guideline that helps youth and adults to develop the seof-knowledge and self-confidence enabling them to take control of their lives and to use thier abilities in a positive way. Future Aces Positive Ticketing Initiative: $1,000 1. Workshop with ESP Committee (learning benefits and uses of this character building tool) 2. Future Aces Motivational Assembly (ESP Committee helps plan and implement the assembly to introduce new initiative) 3. Supply of: Future Aces Positive Tickets (100 pads); 200 postcard sized Future ACes Creeds; and 10 poster sized Creeds for display int he school A Changing-life Experience for Students/subsidized cost per school- $ 5,500 1. A Conference Empowering Students (annual 3 day learning experience at Talisman Mountain Resort- held in November) 2. Character Motivational Assemblies (School wide) 3. Community Service Projects (Students learn to give back to the community) 4. Returning Faces - (One-day Follow-up Conference to share personal and project successes and challenges - held in May) Aces Character Education for Secondary Schools/Subsidized cost per school - $10,000(available to 3 schools per year) 1. A Changing-life Experience for Students (as above) 2. Full Day Institute for student leaders. 3. In-Services Sessions(twice a month with Future Aces Facilitator) 4. Character Development Excursion (i.e. New York Tolerance Centre, UN, Ground Zero) 5. Full Staff Training Session(to support student initiative) 6. Lunch and Learn Trade Fair |
